A plan by ShopRite to turn a vacant lot into additional parking spaces is being met with mixed reviews.

Store owners want to add about 30 more spots for employees at a site located on East Central Avenue near Pearl River High School. Some residents feel the plan poses a danger because it requires the area to be re-zoned from residential to commercial.

Meanwhile, residents who shop at the store say parking is a nightmare. They believe it would be a good idea to have a separate lot for employees.
