Peekskill grocery store abruptly closes leaving customers confused
A popular Peekskill grocery store abruptly closed its doors, leaving employees jobless and customers scratching their heads.
The Key Food Marketplace, which was located on Welcher Avenue, opened about a year ago and closed on Tuesday.
News 12 reached out to Key Foods who declined to say why the store closed.
The store is under contract with the United Food and Commerical Workers Union. The president of the local union says four full-time employees and 15 part-timers are now without a job.
The full-time employees, including the deli and meat managers, will be placed somewhere else, but the part-timers aren't guaranteed a new job, according to the union president.
