The fate of South Blooming Grove is now in the hands of voters.
Residents in South Blooming Grove want to form their own village so they gathered 1,000 signatures on a petition. Last week, the state Supreme Court ruled that the petition was valid so now the final decision is up to the people of South Blooming Grove. Charles Bohan, town supervisor for Blooming Grove, says the project is focused on containing over-development.The last time a village was established in Orange County was in the late 70s. No exact date has been set for the vote.
