Pleasantville gets $5,000 grant for snowblower rebates

Village officials say the grant was awarded due to the hard work of the Climate Smart Community Committee plus the village.

With wintry weather heading toward the Hudson Valley, Pleasantville officials want residents to know that New York state has awarded Pleasantville a $5,000 grant for village residents purchasing electric snowblowers, lawn mowers or leaf blowers.
Village officials say the grant was awarded due to the hard work of the Climate Smart Community Committee plus the village.
Here are the details of grant:
1. Buy a new electric:
• Snowblower or Lawn Mower get a 50% rebate up to $125 when you turn in your gas model
• Snowblower or Lawn Mower get a 50% rebate up to $75 for first time buyers - no trade in
• Leaf Blower - get a 50% rebate up to $75 when you turn in your old gas model
2. Bring your old gas clunker to the Pleasantville Recycling Center on Saturday Dec 17
• Between 9 a.m. - 12 p.m. We’ll be there to accept your gas clunkers.
• Equipment must be drained of all liquids before being turned in at the recycling center.
• All turned in equipment will be destroyed and metal recycled.
3. Get a check in the mail
• Rebates are first come, first served, while funds last.
• Must be a village resident.
• Limit of one snowblower, lawn mower, and leaf blower rebate per household.
• Valid for equipment purchased after 12/1/22.
