Police: 31-year old man slain during drug deal in Newburgh
Police say they've charged a 24-year-old Hudson Valley man with fatally shooting another man during a drug deal.
The city of Newburgh Police Department says officers responded Tuesday to reports of shots fired on Hasbrouck Street. When officers arrived they found 31-year-old Hubert Hines of Newburgh had died from an apparent gunshot wound.
Police say they later arrested Fabian Corley of Newburgh and charged him with second-degree murder and criminal possession of a weapon.
Officials say their investigation determined that the shooting stemmed from a robbery during a drug deal. Police say a BB gun and a semi-automatic handgun were used during the robbery crime and both were recovered.
Police say they also found several pounds of marijuana and several grams of cocaine.
It couldn't be learned from authorities if Corley has a lawyer.
