Police arrest man in Yonkers cat-killing case
Police have arrested a man that they say is behind the mass murder of dozens of cats in Yonkers earlier this year.
According to police, some of the cats were killed by being bashed in the head, but Rene Carcamo is being charged with illegal disposal in this incident. Carcamo, 60, is also charged with two counts of animal cruelty for failing to provide medical attention for two kittens he took in.
Neighbors believe he had been hoarding cats.
Back in April, SPCA investigators found 25 cats hanging from trees in an abandoned lot on Overlook Terrace. Police say Carcamo lives across the street from the lot.
