Police bust alleged gambling ring in Rockland
Police say they confiscated more than a dozen weapons, nearly $400,000 in cash, boxes of poker chips and slot machines in connection with a gambling ring, sports-betting and loan-sharking operation that extended throughout Rockland County and beyond.
In the course of the raids that took place Wednesday, police say they arrested Frank John Fea, of New Jersey, and his children, Alfred Joseph Fea and Tracey Kosierowski Fea, both of Middletown.
The three suspects are accused of loan sharking and charging exorbitant interest rates on loans and unpaid gambling debts.
Authorities say the investigation began 18 months ago with information developed by the Rockland County Intelligence Center.
Rockland County District Attorney Tom Zugibe says additional arrests in the case are forthcoming.
