Police charge 3rd suspect in Middletown motel murder
Police arrested and charged a third suspect in a Middletown motel murder today.
Officials say Jose Soto, of Middletown, pleaded not guilty in Middletown City Court in connection to the fatal stabbing of Heriberto Ayala Monday night. Police have also charged Aldecier Calderon, of Middletown, and Ollie Dolson, of New Hampton, with his murder.
According to police, the three men went to Gino's Motel on Manhagen Avenue and stabbed Ayala several times before taking off with jewelry.
Ayala's family says the stabbing was not random and stemmed from an earlier fight between Ayala and Calderon over money and drugs.
All three men are being held at the Orange County jail without bail.
Middletown police say they are still searching for a fourth suspect.
