Police: Driver claims falling asleep at wheel caused crash

Three people were today hurt during an early morning crash in Rockland County.

Three people were hurt during an early morning crash in Rockland County. 
Police say the crash happened just after midnight on Route 59 in Monsey. 
They say the cause of the crash is still unclear, but the driver told police she fell asleep at the wheel. 
Witnesses say the car was speeding, overtaking another vehicle before losing control. 
Orange and Rockland utility crews have been on the scene working to repair a damaged pole.
The extent of the injuries is unknown at this time.
