New 3-D imaging may lead to a break in a 25-year-old cold case killing in Milford, police say.
A couple out for a walk along Oronoque Road in August 1992 discovered skeletal remains in the woods.
Police say the victim had been shot twice in the head. They had been unable to identify the remains or the killer for more than two decades.
But with a new 3-D image, investigators say they believe the victim was between 18 and 25 years old and of Asian descent. He was about 5 feet 4 inches tall and weighed around 135 pounds.
"They were able to make a replica of the skull that the forensic artist could use to configure what the victim might have looked like when he was alive," says Milford Detective Mitch Warwick.
His killing may be linked to another body found in 1994 nearby along the Housatonic River. In that case, public works employees found a man's torso wrapped in a comforter and left near the shore.
Milford police are asking anyone who recognizes the man in the image to contact them at 203-877-1645.
