The parolee who opened fire inside his former workplace in New Windsor, injuring three, has raised concerns about illegal guns in Hudson Valley.

Victor Piazza, a convicted sex offender, shot and wounded two former bosses and an office manager on Monday at Verla International before killing himself. All victims suffered gunshot wounds to the head. Now, officials are launching an investigation into how Piazza obtained a gun.

New Windsor Police Lieutenant Richard Hovey says they have been trying to trace the weapon. His investigation shows a company in Florida, which closed in 1986, made the gun. Hovey says the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms is also working on the investigation. Police say Piazza either borrowed the gun, stole it, or it may have bought it on an illegal market.
