An apparent lover's triangle in Spring Valley led to violence on Monday, police say.
Witnesses say two men got into a fight over a woman on the corner of West Church Street yesterday afternoon.
According to the woman's mother, both William Beverhart and George Tamarez are dating her daughter.
She says the two got into a heated verbal argument when Tamarez allegedly punched and kicked Beverhart to the ground leaving him unconscious.
Tamarez' father, meanwhile, says his son was just protecting himself.
Spring Valley police say Beverhart was treated at the scene and only suffered minor injuries.
Tamarez was questioned by police and later released.
