A man was hospitalized after he was assaulted on the D train.

Police say the incident happened shortly after midnight on 205th Street and Bainbridge Avenue in Norwood.

Authorities tell News 12 the 48-year-old victim was slashed with some kind of object. He was left with serious cuts to the head in what appears to be an attempted robbery.

According to police, a man wearing blue sweat pants and a black jacket hit that victim and ripped apart his belongings before fleeing empty-handed.

Neighbors in the area say this isn't the first time this has happened.
