Police arrested a suspect in the New Year's Day sexual assault of a 7-year-old girl inside a restroom at Palisades Center Mall.
According to authorities, 36-year old Elio Pintado followed the little girl into a stall of a women's restroom and fondled her while her father waited outside.
Pintado was arrested last week for allegedly luring and enticing another child in New Jersey. After Clarkstown police learned of Pintado's capture, they filed charges against him Friday.
Pintado had been charged with two counts of sexual abuse and endangering the welfare of a child. If convicted, he could face up to seven years in prison.
