Newburgh police say a flare gun accident in which a 4-year-old boy was burned could result in an adult being charged with a crime.
Police say Ja'zoni Arnold was burned in his stomach and arm when he and a 5-year-old friend got a flare gun and began playing with it on Lander Street. Police say the 5-year-old then fired a flare at Ja'zoni.
"Any type of weapon - I don't care if it's a steak knife," says Sgt. Paul Weber, of the Newburgh Police Department. "You gotta know what your kids are doing."
Ja'zoni was treated at St. Luke's Cornwall Hospital for minor burns.
