Police seek 3 in possible revenge shooting
Police in Haverstraw are searching for three suspects they say fired shots at a man while he walking into his apartment building Wednesday.
According to police, a man returning home to his Grant Street apartment around 1 a.m. was approached by three Hispanic males. The man told police two of the individuals pulled out guns and started firing. The suspects missed their intended target.
Police say the shooting may be retaliation for a nearby stabbing that took place Sunday. According to investigators, that incident may have started at the Dominican Parade. Police say the stabbing suspects initially asked for money, but the situation escalated into a stabbing.
One 17-year-old victim from that stabbing remains at Nyack Hospital with serious injuries. The other 19-year-old was released and took off for the Dominican Republic, according to police. At this time investigators aren't sure if everything might be gang-related.
Anyone with information on the shooting is asked to contact the Haverstraw Police Department at 914-354-1500.
