Police unveil timeline in assault of young girl
Clarkstown police released Tuesday the timeline of a sexual assault targeting a 7-year-old girl at the Palisades Center Mall.
Police say shortly after 12 p.m. on New Year's Day, the suspect, described as a man in his 40s, bought a girl's blouse. An hour later, he purchased a ticket to the movie "Alvin and the Chipmunks." At around 2:30 p.m., the man followed the 7-year-old into the bathroom at AMC Lowes theater, where he spent about three minutes inside.
After the girl gave graphic details of the encounter with the man, her father notified police.
Crime Stoppers is offering a $2,500 reward for information leading to an arrest in this case.
