Police veteran makes history as first African American chief of the Greenburgh PD
A 24-year veteran of the Greenburgh Police Department is making history as the first African American to be named chief.
The Town Board passed a resolution Friday to appoint Capt. Kobie Powell to lead the department.
Powell will officially take over the department with a pinning ceremony at the next Town Board meeting on Sept. 14.
