The incident was caught on video.
The Yonkers City School District says police responded to the Yonkers Montessori Academy last month for a report of an alleged assault that involved two students and an adult.
Detectives say they arrested 55-year-old Nancy Rosa following an investigation.
The attorney for the mother of the daughter involved says they filed a claim against the school district, which is the first step in filing a lawsuit.
