A new poll finds that most New Yorkers think the state's rollout of the Common Core education standards was rushed, leading to widespread confusion.
According to the Times Union/Siena Research Institute poll, more than 80 percent of those asked say implementation was rushed. Only 14 percent disagreed.
The survey also found that overall, 46 percent of those polled rated the current quality of public education as good or excellent, while 37 percent said it was fair or poor.
The state's Education Department is not counting this year's Common Core scores on any transcripts.
