Pomona Middle School students suspended over bringing realistic looking pellet gun to school, possibly making threats
POMONA - Police are investigating whether a realistic looking pellet gun brought into Pomona Middle School was used to threaten fellow students.
School officials say four students brought in a plastic Airsoft pellet gun last Friday, but no one knew about it until Saturday night when a parent notified the East Ramapo School District. Police were called and they searched the home of one of the students allegedly involved, but found no gun.
The gun was eventually turned in.
Police and school officials are looking into the possibility that the students also made threatening phone calls to classmates about using the pistol, which looks like a real gun.
The students involved in this prank were suspended for five days, and further disciplinary action may be on the way.
