WESTCHESTER - Pope Francis is slated to make his first official trip to the United States next year.

According to the Vatican, the Pontiff will attend the World Meeting of Families in Philadelphia.

Although Pope Francis has received many invitations from other cities, including New York, this is his first acceptance.

The last papal visit to the Hudson Valley was made by Pope Benedict, in April, 2007, when he visited St. Joseph's Seminary in Yonkers.
