Port Chester elementary school shuts down 2 water sources due to presence of coliform bacteria
Work on a water main and a fire hydrant replacement may be causing the presence of the bacteria coliform in two water sources at King Street Elementary School in Port Chester.

11h agoWork on a water main and a fire hydrant replacement may be causing the presence of the bacteria coliform in two water sources at King Street Elementary School in Port Chester.
Coliform is not lethal but can cause a variety of other symptoms.
The district has shut down the sink and bottle filling station out of an abundance of caution and will retest both sources Monday.
All other potable water sources in the school have been tested and there is no evidence of coliform bacteria in other water sources.
