Port Jervis H.S. senior killed in car crash laid to rest
The gloomy weather seemed appropriate for family and friends attending the funeral of a Port Jervis High School senior.
Sara Beth Abramowitz and two of her friends, Kathleen Decker and Stephanie Conklin, were killed instantly on June 2 when the car they were riding in crossed a median on I-84 and crashed into a tractor-trailer. One other classmate, Sean Donnelly, was injured and is now recovering at Westchester Medical Center in Valhalla. The four teens were headed to Pennsylvania just hours after their graduation.
Teachers, students and family held back tears as Abramowitz?s pink coffin was carried away from Saint Mary?s Church. The high school has been hit with six deaths since last summer. Police are investigating the accident.
