Port Jervis man hits NY Lottery jackpot
A Port Jervis animal control officer has become Orange County's newest millionaire after hitting a New York Lottery jackpot.
Barry Longwell, 64, says he has been playing the lottery for 25 years and says he still doesn't believe that he won $1 million.
"I wish it could happen to everybody," he says.
Longwell bought the lucky Win a Million scratch-off ticket July 21 in Port Jervis after cashing in $20 in lottery tickets.
"All I could hear was my father yelling, '$1 million, $1 million,'" says Longwell's daughter Michelle Phillips.
Longwell says he'll spend his prize money on a vacation and use a portion of it to upgrade his van.
In 2008, Longwell won $250,000 on Mega Millions.
