A Poughkeepsie man drowned in Wappinger Creek.
The incident happened Tuesday in Wappingers Falls behind New Hackensack Road.
First responders located his body around 7:30 p.m.
They tried to revive him, but the 20-year-old died at MidHudson Regional Hospital.
As the Fourth of July weekend approaches, the Dutchess County Sheriff's Office reminds everyone to use extreme caution whenever swimming in a body of water.
This was at least the fourth fatal drowning in the Hudson Valley since Saturday.
