FedEx teamed up with non-profit group ?First Book? and made a special delivery to P.S. 30 Wednesday afternoon.
The school was the first to receive hundreds of the 10,000 books that have been donated to district 7. The donations are part of an initiative to encourage students to read at a young age.
?If they understand that reading is not just something that they need to do but that they will love to do ? that will help them become a better person,? said librarian Monica Gonzalez
Eleven other schools in the South Bronx will be getting their special deliveries throughout the rest of the week.
