Recent problems with pedophiles contacting young kids and a threat at Minisink Valley High School have prompted Congress to introduce a bill that would prohibit minors from accessing certain Web sites on school or library computers.

The popular Web site myspace.com is the most recent online social network that's taken the teen scene by storm. It allows kids to chat, create their own Web sites, post pictures and blogs. But even some teens in Warwick agree that it is not the safest site. Both Goshen and Warwick public libraries have policies requiring teens to have parental consent to log on to myspace.com.

The bill would also require the Federal Trade Commission to create a special Web site for parents and teachers warning of the potential dangers of social networking sites.
