An 11-week-old Bronx baby may have died from swine flu, according to media reports.
According to the New York Daily News, the family of Steven Montanez says the baby had fallen ill with swine flu when his aunt found him unconscious last week.
An official at St. Barnabas Hospital told News 12 The Bronx that a baby was rushed there Thursday. He had no pulse and wasn't breathing, according to the hospital. Doctors were not able to resuscitate him.
The city's medical examiner is now investigating whether swine flu caused the baby's death. As many as four deaths in New York City have been linked to swine flu since the outbreak began in April.
AP wire services were used in this report.
