A new report released by the office of state Sen. Jeff Klein states that some chain pharmacies are getting sloppy with the way they distribute prescription drugs.

The report is raising the red flag after it states several local pharmacies were cited for various violations. Some residents say the bigger chains are large and impersonal, so they're not surprised by the findings.

"It's like a meat market in there," says Joe Mitchell. "That's why I like these little guys here, it's a family owned place. They take care of the people in the neighborhood."

Some of the violations cited by the state include pharmacies being open without a licensed pharmacist on duty and the sale of misbranded drugs.

Although some are put off by the larger pharmacies, others say mistakes are simply par for the course.

"Mistakes happen both large and small," says resident Michael Kane.

Sen. Klein says the report isn't meant to single out one particular pharmacy, rather, it is meant to keep residents vigilant about their medications.
