Newburgh residents are speaking out against violence in their community after a young man was shot and a teen was stabbed just days apart.
Residents say the violence can be traced back to a wave of gang activity in the area. Authorities say a 24-year-old man was shot several times Sunday on Dubois Street and the teen was stabbed on Lake Street early Monday morning.
The city has launched a gang-awareness program to try and combat the problem.
