Road Trip Close to Home: Kreate Hub in the Bronx

A new exhibit at Kreate Hub is displaying beautiful images for Bronx residents, but not in the way most think.
Removing the glitz and glam and tearing down the noise through black and white photography is just one of the many ways Marisol Diaz-Gordon is speaking to the Bronx audience through her work.
Her latest exhibit titled "Night Vision" is a fire escape gallery over at Kreate Hub, and it takes Bronx residents through a collection of images of the Lower East Side and Chinatown all captured at night.
The fire escape gallery is a new public art initiative developed by En Foco that aims at highlighting the community's artists of color. Diaz-Gordon not only got the chance to participate, but she was also a panelist for an exhibit called "Reveal,” which displays the work of other local artists.
Diaz-Gordon says she is also currently working on her MFA in digital media at Lehman College and is looking forward to contributing to the growth of other artists.
The gallery is open Wednesday through Friday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. and by appointment only on Saturdays.
