Police are searching for a suspect who stole a woman's purse containing a bank deposit outside a Wachovia Bank branch in Spring Valley Wednesday morning.
Kevin Shanley, of Pomona, says he heard a scream and saw the suspect running through bushes and leaping over a wall with a tote bag in his hands at around 11 a.m.
Shanley says he was about to apprehend the alleged perpetrator, who ran toward him, but changed his mind out of fear that the suspected robber may be armed.
It remains unknown how much money the robber got away with. So far, no arrests have been made.
