A former Brewster resident now living in Ohio was charged in the 1995 cold case murders of his wife and teen daughter.
Robert Honsch's wife Marcia and 16-year-old daughter Elizabeth vanished from their Brewster apartment in 1995. That September, Elizabeth Honsch's remains were found wrapped in a sleeping bag and garbage bags at a strip mall in New Britain, Connecticut. A week later, Marcia Honsch's remains were found in the Tolland State Forest in Massachusetts.
Both women had been fatally shot in the head and were only formally identified with DNA testing last month. Police say a tip linked Honsch to his wife's death.
Honsch, now 70, was tracked down in rural Ohio. He was living under the alias Robert Tyree and has a new wife and children.
