Rockland cheerleaders score national championship
The North Rockland Red Raiders midget cheerleaders are now national champions after claiming first place at the Pop Warner National Championship at Disney World.
The squad of 35 seventh- and eighth-grade girls went up against 13 other teams from across the country after first making it through several other competitions. The girls competed on the county level, the Northeast level and then the Eastern regional level to make it to Florida.
The team says it practiced three days a week to perfect their winning two-and-a-half minute routine.
