Some women in Rockland County have come up with an unique idea to help raise money for the Hudson Valley Humane Society.
Joni Anger and Ellen Bernstein decided to combine their passion for animals and yard sales by opening the Hudson Valley Humane Society Thrift Shop. They say it took nine months of hard work to renovate their location, but they insist it was a labor of love.
Their concern for these furry little friends next door in the kennel is why all the proceeds will be going to the humane society. "It all goes to the animals ... we've been paying the vet bills from the proceeds of this, which has been a big help," says Bernstein.
