Measles is a highly contagious respiratory disease caused by a virus and is spread by contact with nasal or throat secretions of infected people. (February 7, 2014 10:26 PM)

The Rockland County Department of Health has identified a case of measles in the area.

Officials say that residents may have been exposed to a child with measles at the Palisades Center Mall on Feb. 2 between 11:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m.

Specific stores that may have been exposed include Best Buy and the AT&T store, located on the first floor of the mall.
