Rockland County Executive Ed Day on Friday sent another letter to Gov. Kathy Hochul about Mayor Eric Adams filing new court papers demanding the state override emergency actions across the state so the city can export migrants and their crisis to other localities.
In the letter, Day states that this is his third time asking Hochul to listen to the people across the state who are opposed to the city's uncoordinated decompression strategy. He adds Rockland has had a severe housing crisis that forced her administration to unprecedently deputize the county to over building and fire code enforcement in Spring Valley.
Day also acknowledged that sending busloads of people without available housing will result in more dangerously overcrowded conditions.
