CONGERS - The 30-hour long snowstorm that ravaged the Hudson Valley has left a trail of destruction in its path.

The weight of heavy snow and ice is causing roof collapses across the region.

The roof of a Boars Head distributer at 142 North Route 9W in Congers collapsed this morning. Officials say the building's landlord had just put a new roof on the building, but it wasn't able to withstand the added snow. There were no injuries.

In Garnerville, a Shoprite is missing a 50-by-50 foot section of the roof which fell in just before 7:30 a.m. today. There were several employees inside who managed to evacuate without injury, but the store itself is closed until further notice.
