11h agoNews 12 has learned Saugerties Police Chief Joseph Sinagra has announced his retirement.
A Saugerties town board member said Sinagra submitted a letter on Aug. 9 notifying of his retirement from the police department.
Sinagra’s announcement comes after he was officially suspended back in July following a state probe which found an officer engaged in three separate incidents of sexual misconduct under his watch.
Sinagra's last day will be Sept 24.
