Shelter pets displaced by Harvey arrive in Middletown
Dozens of shelter pets displaced by Hurricane Harvey arrived in Orange County Tuesday.
After 24 hours of emergency travel, 53 dogs and cats from hard-hit Houston shelters arrived at Pets Alive in Middletown.
"We're moving them out of the shelters that cannot house them right now because of flooding issues, and also ones that aren't being flooded. That way they can have space for animals that are being found in their rescue efforts," says Alyssa Eller, of Brother Wolf Animal Rescue.

After arriving, the animals headed to a triage area that Pets Alive has set up in the hope that staff can get them healthy enough to be adopted.
