CLARKSTOWN - Ice and snow are still causing problems in Clarkstown more than 24 hours after Wednesday's snowstorm ended.

Large mounds of snow are clogging sidewalks and parking lots. While bus stops have been cleared, residents have been walking in the street to get to them since the sidewalks aren't shoveled.

Clarkstown highway crews are still at work, plowing roads and clearing ice from sidewalks. Highway Superintendent Wayne Ballard says it will take at least three more days before everything's cleared off. Ballard says some of their plows have broken down, holding up the cleanup effort.

In the meantime, residents afraid to walk around the snow can call a special bus service to pick them up at their door.
