Snowstorm takes HV residents by surprise
An unexpected snowstorm swept through the Hudson Valley Thursday, making for a dangerous and messy morning commute.
Driving conditions turned so dangerous that the Palisades Parkway had to be temporarily shut down in both directions from New City to as far north as Orange County.
The Ramapo Highway Department sent out nearly two dozen trucks to clear and treat 200 miles of wet roads with salt ahead of the evening rush hour.
