Snowstorm threatens messy commute for Hudson Valley drivers
With news of a major snowstorm, highway departments and residents geared up across the Hudson Valley Tuesday.
Forecasters say the amount of snow accumulation will depend on where someone lives in the region. However, the forecast of ice mixing in with the snow has highway departments getting a jump start. Crews in Tuxedo will use a salt substitute called Clear Lane, which has a green tint to it so drivers know what streets have been treated. It is also less erosive that salt.
Residents also spent Tuesday stocking up on supplies such as food and shovels. Kids in the area say they are looking forward to playing in winter?s first snowfall.
