Nearly 200 people packed St. Lawrence O'Toole Church in Brewster Saturday to say goodbye to a 16-year-old who died in a car crash.
Christopher Caiazzo died Tuesday night after he lost control of his car and slammed into a tree on Farm-to-Market Road in Brewster. Police say he was trying to catch up to a friend he was following when the accident happened. Investigators say speed and driver inexperience led to the crash.
Caiazzo?s mother sobbed uncontrollably as she reached out to her son?s casket outside the church. The high school junior was remembered as a kid who always made others happy and had a smile on his face everywhere he went. Caiazzo received the car he was driving as a Christmas present. His friends say his tragic death acts as a reminder for other teens to be careful on the road.
