Parents and students near P.S. 24 in Riverdale say speeding drivers who pass through a nearby stretch of road pose a serious safety hazard.
Parents say they have been begging the Department of Transportation to install a stop sign since April of 2009, but haven?t seen any results. They say they will buy radar guns to prove motorists that go through the intersection drive over the speed limit.
The DOT says they are conducting a 12-week study to monitor traffic and speeds at the intersection, but parents and neighbors say that's not good enough.
