Gov. Eliot Spitzer (D-NY) was joined by hundreds Friday to pay their final respects to a beloved Rockland public servant.
An honor guard carried the casket of Assemblyman Ken Zebrowski (D-New City) through the crowd of politicians in New City. The formal funeral reflected the respect Zebrowski earned from his colleagues in government. He served 22 years as a Rockland County legislator and was in his third year as state Assemblyman of Rockland's 94th District.
Zebrowski, 61, died Sunday at Nyack Hospital of liver and kidney failure after a battle with hepatitis C.
?He's a real loss for those of us who care about the state and this region,? Spitzer said.
Rockland County Executive Scott Vanderhoef said the assemblyman was ?a major force in Rockland County. So, regardless of your party politics, Ken Zebrowski is a hero to a lot of us.?
