Stabbing suspect shot and killed
(AP) - Authorities say a man who stabbed two upstate New York police investigators has died of injuries suffered when he was shot by another officer.
State police Capt. Wayne Olson confirmed Monday morning that 37-year-old Tymmogene Alves of Middletown had died. Alves died Sunday afternoon.
Alves had been hospitalized since early Saturday morning, when police say he stabbed Middletown Detective Sgt. Gerald Mishk and state police Investigator Kevin McGrath after they saw him urinating in public.
Authorities say Alves was shot in the chest by another member of the state police.
McGrath was treated and released. Mishk had surgery and remainshospitalized.
