Standing in solidarity: Jewish groups rally in Monroe amid escalating Israel-Hamas war

As the fighting continues and the death toll climbs in the Israel-Hamas war, Jewish groups in the Hudson Valley gathered to pray for the victims and for a peaceful end to the fighting.
News 12's Carol Wilkinson was at a solidarity rally for Israel in Monroe where discussions took place about how people in the Hudson Valley can support the people of Israel. About 100 supporters attended the rally at the Chabad of Orange County.

Samira Galler, who has family in Israel, attended the rally. Galler says she is very worried about her sister, her three children and seven grandchildren as well as her brother, his kids and five grandchildren.
"I couldn't hold my tears back as they were saying the prayers here," says Galler.

Earlier in the day, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said Israel's fierce offensive against Hamas in the Gaza Strip has "only started." Netanyahu delivered the pronouncement in a nationally televised address as Israel pressed ahead with a third day of heavy airstrikes in Gaza following Hamas' unprecedented and deadly incursion into Israel.
A security seminar is being held at the Chabad on Oct. 26 at 6:30 p.m.
