There are new efforts from state lawmakers to protect victims in cases of sexual misconduct.
A proposed bill. called the "Speak Out Act." would prohibit predispute non-disclosure agreements (NDAs) in sexual harassment and assault cases, and in situations where survivors wish to break their silence.
Non-disclosure agreements would be prohibited between current employers, former and prospective employees, contractors, providers of goods and services, consumers and invalidate existing predispute NDAs in cases not yet been filed.
